John Demmler serves as the President and CEO of 7 17 Credit Union, a $1.8 Billion credit union with 120,000 members headquartered in Warren, Ohio.  The mission of 7 17 Credit Union focuses on building stronger communities through financial inclusion and economic development.  John has 25 years of experience in the banking and credit union industry, having held executive level positions at multiple institutions since 2011.Since entering his position at 7 17, John has been appointed to Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s Credit Union Council for a three-year term. John also serves on the Ohio Credit Union League PAC Board of Directors, Corporate One FCU Supervisory Audit Committee and the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland Business Advisory Council . He’s also involved locally, serving on both the Board of Directors and as the Chair of the Housing Council Committee for the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber.John is focused on expanding the credit union movement and geographic reach of 7 17 Credit Union into Stark, Summit, Portage and Geauga counties to better serve the membership and community throughout Northeast Ohio.  John received two bachelor’s degrees in finance and banking in 1999 and two bachelor’s degrees in business administration and marketing in 1998 from Franklin University.  He earned his M.B.A. in 2002 from Capital University and received a juris doctorate from DePaul University College of Law in 2008.
