SPEAKER:  Jon Fiume, John S. Knight Executive Director & CEO, Akron Art Museum (Signature 22)

MODERATOR: Dr. Joe Zarconi, NEOMED Professor Emeritus and Retired Educator

Jon Fiume has been the Director of the Akron Art Museum since 2022. Before that, he served as Interim Director for two years. Although new to the field professionally, he served on the board from 2005 to 2015. Jon has been committed to Akron's arts and culture landscape, serving on the boards of numerous arts and cultural organizations, including Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens and Weathervane Playhouse. He is also a founding board member of ArtsNow, a county-wide organization that promotes local arts and culture initiatives. Currently, Jon serves the City of Akron as a Public Art Commissioner and is a board member of Glendale Cemetery and Grace House. Jon brings a fresh approach to museum leadership, focusing on making the institution the community's art museum and on fostering relationships of all kinds.

Previously, Jon held the positions of Chief Operating Officer at Mustard Seed Market & Cafe and Vice President of Retail Operations at Ritzman Pharmacies, once a local independent pharmacy chain. Jon has also provided coaching and consultative services to individuals and organizations seeking to grow and develop.

Jon graduated from John Carroll University in Cleveland with a degree in Spanish and a minor in Marketing. He is a past board member and graduate of Leadership Akron Signature Class 22, and was recognized by Crain's Cleveland Business 40 under 40 in 2006. In his spare time, Jon enjoys art, travel, fine wines and gins, hiking, weight training, and running. Jon resides in Akron with his husband, Mark, and their dog, Ginger.
